Grand Migrations: Wildlife on the Move
As the Creative Director and Designer for the Grand Migrations exhibit at the Craig Thomas Discovery and Visitor Center in Grand Teton, I developed the concept to explore the crucial role of migration for the survival of diverse wildlife, from delicate butterflies to the iconic mule deer. Inspired by the understanding that this remarkable process allows animals to access vital food and habitat, the exhibit particularly focuses on the long journeys undertaken by mule deer within the park. My responsibilities extended to the in-house fabrication and installation of all exhibit elements, from painting the backdrop wall to hanging the multi-layered custom wood printed exhibit panels and installing over hundred feet of rope migrations routes that extend past the edges of the exhibit. To entice further exploration, the exhibit incorporates short video clips previewing the film "Animal Trails: Rediscovering Grand Teton Migrations," which visitors can then view in its entirety at the visitor center auditorium for a more in-depth understanding.
I also redesigned this exhibit for our web site: https://www.nps.gov/grte/learn/nature/grand-migrations.htm
